Edinburgh airport transfers
Straight to the terminal, straight to the door
Edinburgh Airport sits at Ingliston, roughly eight miles west of the city centre, just off the A8 and within reach of both the M8 and the city bypass. On a quiet morning that's a twenty-minute run; add the Newbridge roundabout at rush hour, or a Saturday when the bypass is nose-to-tail, and it's a different journey entirely. We build the real timings into your pickup rather than the optimistic ones.
One terminal makes arrivals refreshingly simple. We watch your inbound flight, meet you in the arrivals hall with a name board, take the heavy bags and walk you to the vehicle — no working out which pickup zone you're allowed to stand in while everyone else phones home. If you'd rather skip the meet and greet and head straight out, we'll agree the exact collection point before you fly.
Edinburgh drop-offs are where local knowledge actually matters. Between the bus gates, the one-way system and the loading restrictions around the Old Town and New Town, the nearest legal stop to your address isn't always the obvious one. We sort that out in advance, so the journey ends with a short walk and a hand with the cases rather than a lap of the Grassmarket. The airport is also the natural starting point for golf at St Andrews or Gleneagles, for Fife and Stirling, and for onward runs west to Glasgow.
Booking around Festival season
August turns the city inside out. During the Fringe and the International Festival — and again over Hogmanay, and on Murrayfield rugby weekends — traffic patterns change, road closures appear, and cars get scarce exactly when everyone needs one. Book those dates early and we'll build the closures into the plan.
Why not the tram?
If you're travelling light and heading for Princes Street, the tram is hard to argue with. With a family, a group, golf clubs or a genuine amount of luggage, a private 8-seater takes the whole party door to door in one go — no changes, no queue, no cobbles with a suitcase at the far end — for a price you already know before you land.

Questions
Edinburgh airport transfer FAQs
Anything we haven't covered? Call 07765 248036 — you'll get a straight answer from the person who'll be driving.
How early should I book an Edinburgh airport transfer?
A week or two ahead is comfortable for most journeys. For August — the Fringe and the International Festival — and for Hogmanay, rugby weekends at Murrayfield and the school holidays, book as far ahead as you can, because those are the dates that fill first. Last-minute enquiries are still welcome: call 07765 248036 and we'll tell you straight away whether we can cover it.
Do you track flight delays into Edinburgh Airport?
Yes. Send us your flight number with the booking and we check the inbound before we set off, so a delay moves your pickup instead of costing you the car. If you land early, we aim to already be waiting.
Where do you meet passengers at Edinburgh Airport?
Edinburgh has a single terminal, which keeps things simple. We meet you inside the arrivals hall with a name board and help with the bags — or collect you from the designated pickup area if you'd rather head straight out. Either way, the exact meeting point is agreed before you fly.
How much free waiting time is included?
45 minutes after an international landing and 30 minutes after a domestic one, included in the fixed price. That covers passport control and baggage reclaim on a normal day — and if something holds you up, we'd rather you messaged us than rushed.
Can you drop us in the Old Town or on a restricted street?
Much of the Old Town and New Town has bus gates, one-way systems and loading restrictions, so we agree a practical drop-off point close to your address before the day rather than discovering the problem with a boot full of suitcases. It's usually a very short walk — and we help with the cases.
Do you go beyond Edinburgh — St Andrews, Glasgow or the Highlands?
Yes. Edinburgh Airport is a common starting point for golf trips to St Andrews and Gleneagles, for Fife and Stirling, and for onward runs to Glasgow or further north. Same 8-seater, same fixed price, quoted before you travel — see our Glasgow airport transfers page for journeys starting in the west.
Is a private transfer better than the tram or bus with luggage?
For one person with a rucksack, the tram is fine. For a family, a group or anyone with real luggage, a private transfer takes you door to door with no changes, no queue and no dragging cases over cobbles at the far end — for a price you already know.
Ready to book your Edinburgh transfer?
Send us the flight, the postcode and the passenger count. We'll come back with a fixed price — and then we'll be early.
